01 / Preparation

A clear brief makes room for better work.

Calm sessions, clear direction and room to be yourself. No experience is needed. We discuss references, timing, location, styling and delivery before the session.

You do not need to know how to pose or arrive with a finished concept. Direction stays practical and collaborative.

What we agree together

  • Concept, references and practical setup
  • Direction, pace and comfort
  • Privacy and image use
  • Editing and agreed delivery

Phase 2A service guide

A service shaped around the actual brief.

A portrait does not need to be loud to say something. Its strength may be a relaxed expression, a posture that finally feels natural, or a detail you see every day but rarely recognise in a photograph. This portrait service is for people who want room to be themselves. You do not need model experience, a fixed pose, or a complete concept. A question, a feeling, a piece of clothing, or a reason to make a record of yourself is enough to begin the conversation.

Preparation is a chance to understand what you want the images to hold. That might be a professional portrait, a personal milestone, a new chapter, or a series where you recognise yourself more clearly. We can discuss references, clothing, surroundings, light and how much direction would feel useful. The camera does not set the pace by itself. Asking questions, trying something again, changing direction or taking a break are all part of a workable session.

During the photography I offer practical guidance when it helps and leave room for natural responses when that is stronger. We pay attention to expression, hands, posture, background and the small changes that make an image feel believable. You should not have to guess what is happening. Saying that something feels awkward or asking for another approach is useful information, not an inconvenience. The goal is a considered portrait that still belongs to the person in it.

Selection, image use and delivery are discussed for the individual project rather than filled in with assumptions. If you want to know whether a portrait session suits your idea, setting or preparation, use the inquiry to describe what you already know. The existing process page explains the broader approach to boundaries, privacy and consent, so this service page links there instead of repeating that guidance.

Who this is for

For people who want a portrait that feels personal, including anyone who has never worked in front of a camera before.

Session scope

We can explore posture, expression, light, clothing and atmosphere. The session may be calm, directed, spontaneous, or a considered mix of all three.

Process and location

We start with your idea and expectations, then discuss preparation, boundaries, privacy and image use before a guided session with check-ins.

Jack Jacked Photography works from Purmerend and throughout the Netherlands. A location and any travel arrangements are discussed per inquiry.

Questions

Start with the details that matter to you.

Consent and privacy are explained on the existing process page, rather than repeated here.

Start an inquiryRead the process
Do I need posing experience?

No. You do not need model experience. Guidance is adapted to what you need, and you can say what feels natural or uncomfortable throughout the session.

Can a portrait session be professional or business-focused?

Yes. Tell us what the images are for in your inquiry so expression, clothing, background and direction can support that purpose.

Where can a portrait session take place?

Purmerend is the base. Other locations in the Netherlands can be discussed in the inquiry, including the practical travel arrangements for that project.
